Located just 15 miles east of Vernal near Jensen, Utah, the park offers loads of spectacular scenery and., exciting discoveries Dogs are not allowed to wait unattended in the car during the summer. Bean and Trudy were given a special pass so they could see the stegosaurus outside the museum. Accomodations can be found in Rangely, CO just 18 miles south of Dinosaur, CO or in Vernal, UT which is about 15 miles west of Jensen, UT. Grass is scarce in this part of the country, so the dogs had to be content with pebble-based landscape at the small and well-kept Budget Host Inn in Rangely, CO. This was surprisingly well-equipped with a fridge and microwave, located down the street from a great Mexican restaurant with rates of about $60 per night. Sorry we don't have any pictures. . .

- At the
Utah Field House of Natural History State Park and Dinosaur Gardens in Vernal, visitors stroll through time–historic, prehistoric and geologic. Exhibits of rock types and vertebrate and invertebrate fossils fill the Geology Hall. Paintings and murals by Ernest Untermann, an innovative artist and geologist, depict prehistoric scenes and modern vistas. - In the Dinosaur Gardens, Mesozoic creatures dominate. The display of 14 life-sized extinct animals was created by sculptor, Elbert Porter. A small lake and waterfall tumbling across native rock with foliage reminiscent of the Mesozoic era enhance the illusion. Park admission is $1.50 for adults, and $1.00 for children ages 6-15.
